Dr. Glen Karunanayake is an endodontist and educator with over three decades of clinical and academic expertise. Trained at Guy's Hospital Dental School and the Eastman Dental Institute in London, he is grounded in biologically based endodontics and precise technical practice. He joined the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry as an Associate Professor in 2018, where he served as consultant on the Trauma Team led by Dr. John Christensen for dento-alveolar trauma management.
With specialized expertise in odontogenic pain developed through a mini-residency at the University of Kentucky under Dr. Jeffery Okesen, Dr. Karunanayake has contributed a chapter on dental traumatology to the forthcoming 12th edition of McDonald and Avery's Dentistry for the Child and Adolescent. He currently serves as Interim Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
