David T. Wu, D.M.D., D.M.Sc., Dipl. A.B.P., F.R.C.D.C., is the Director of Advanced Graduate Periodontology and Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his BS and DMD at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and his Specialty Certificate in Periodontology and Doctor of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology at Harvard. Dr. Wu's laboratory focuses on oral regeneration through bioengineering, innovation and translation. His research includes developing cell‑instructive biomaterials, medical devices for wound healing and drug delivery, and in vitro tissue models for emulating oral health and disease. He has published extensively in leading journals including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering and Translational Medicine, Tissue Engineering, Journal of Dental Research and JADA. He has received notable honors including the ADA Gold Medal Fellowship for Excellence in Dental Research, the Balint Orban Award for Basic Science Research from the Americal Academy of Periodontology, and multiple teaching awards from the AAP Foundation and Harvard University.
