Dr. Mark W. Lingen is a Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He comes from a "dental family" that includes a total of 5 graduates of Northwestern University Dental School dating back to 1894. In addition to dental school, Dr. Lingen completed his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology as well as a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Pathology at Northwestern. Dr. Lingen is the Editor-in-Chief for the journal Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology (Triple O). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, the American and International Colleges of Dentists and the Royal College of Pathologists. Dr. Lingen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. His NIH-funded research, which, focusses on several aspects of oral cancer, has resulted in more than 200 manuscripts and book chapters.
