Dr. Maria A. Mora is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Maxillofacial Medicine at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and completed her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a Master of Science degree at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. Dr. Mora is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
With two decades of clinical experience, she has maintained an active private practice since 2006 while advancing dental education. She is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker and has lectured for organizations including the American Dental Association, the Imaging Sciences Institute, and BeamReaders. She previously served as Chair of Continuing Education for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Her expertise centers on CBCT, temporomandibular joint imaging, orthodontic applications of imaging, and airway assessment, with a focus on translating imaging findings into clinically actionable insights and comprehensive patient care.
